Abstract:

A great lot of spiders was collected with pitfalls-traps in some localities of Spanish "Sistema Central" (occidental zone). The analysis of material concerning the genus Tegenaria Latreille, 1804 proves a taxonomical mistake: the erroneous interpretation of male of Tegenaria bucculenta (L. Koch, 1868). In this paper the characters of the true male of T. bucculenta are presented. These data gives some possible discussions about their reproductive phenology, habitat and chorology. We also suggest the probably affinities with others three Iberian species: Tegenaria herculea Fage, 1931, Tegenaria hispanica Fage, 1931, and Tegenaria racovitzai E. Simon, 1907.
