| Abstract: | This is is a book for the identification of the 620 species of spiders recorded from Quebec, as well as of an additional 50 species whose occurrence in the province is regarded as probable. External morphology, collecting methods, and curatorial techniques are explained. An identification key to families, accompanied by abundant illustrations is presented. Every family is treated in a separate chapter that comprises a summary of major biological traits of the family, an identification key to the genera (except for Linyphiidae), and illustrations of diagnostic characters of every species. A glossary provides definitions of arachnological terms used in the book. A list of 220 full references to specialized books and articles cited in the text is provided.
