AB - The spinning apparatus of adult Clubiona phragmitis C. L. Koch of both sexes has been morphologically examined. C. phragmitis is poorer equiped with external spinning structures as compared to many web-spinning spiders (especially Agriopidae, Agelenidae), though better equiped as compared to Theridiidae. The spinning apparatus of the studied species is more efficient than that of nonspinners which closely connected with its mode of life. The male spinning apparatus, in spite of its being morphologically richer than in females, is functionally reduced. Only during the mating period its activity is comparable with that of the female apparatus. KW - Tegenaria atrica [Opisthosoma / Opisthosomal anomalies / Characteristics AB - The opisthosoma of Tegenaria atrica is characterized by a high mor- phological stability, as it is exceptionally resistant to the teratogenic effect of most abiotic factors except temperature. The least frequent opisthosomal anomalies found in our experimental material were disturbances in the colouring of opisthosoma. Another rare anomaly was the elongation of the postspinneret zone of the opisthosoma, resem- bling the postabdomen of other arachnids. The occurrence of a much narrower elonga- tion, sometimes with traces of segmentation, resembling the postabdomen the advanced spider, can be interpreted as a specific atavism. An equally rare anomaly was the presence of two independent anal orifices in the postspinneret zone. All the above- described anomalies appear extremely rarely, and some of them are related to the atavistic characteristics observed in the spiders' ontogeny VL - 54-55 SN - 0044-510X UR - ://ZOOREC:ZOOR14801005174 N1 - ZOOR14801005174 ER - TY - JOUR T1 - EPIMORPHOSIS OF HETEROSYMELIC APPENDAGES IN TEGENARIA ATRICA (ARANEAE, AGELENIDAE) JF - Zoologica Poloniae Y1 - 2010 A1 - Napiorkowska, Teresa A1 - Jacunski, Lech A1 - Templin, Julita SP - 43 EP - 58 KW - Appendages KW - appendages / ] [Regeneration / Epimorphic regeneration / ]. KW - Tegenaria atrica [Pedipalps / / larva AB - Studies of epimorphic regeneration of appendages were carried out on larvae and nymphs of Tegenaria atrica C.L.KOCH with heterosymely (accretion of appendages on the same side of the body) of two walking appendages and of walking appendages with pedipalpi. All the anomalies were obtained by exposing developing embryos to alternate temperatures of 14 and 32[degree]C. Amputation of fragments of anomalous appendages was always followed by regeneration. Based on the characteristic external structures of the regenerating joints, successive stages of epimorphosis were estabilished, whose start and end were marked by ecdyses. Several types of regenerates were found, whose anatomical structure did not undergo further significant changes until the end of our observations.
