TY - JOUR T1 - Untersuchungen zur Evolution der Kopulationsorgane bei Spinnen (1) (Arachnida, Araneae) JF - Entomologische Abhandlungen (Dresden) Y1 - 1989 A1 - Heimer, S. SP - 1 EP - 25 KW - [Evolutionary trends / / ]. KW - Araneae (Arachnida). KW - Araneae [Copulatory organs / / Male & female anatomy & evolution] KW - Evolution KW - Evolutionary adaptation KW - Reproduction KW - Reproductive system AB - The functional morphology of male and female copulatory organs was investigated in 456 spiders representing 189 species from following 36 families: Agelenidae, Anapidae, Araneidae, Atypidae, Caponiidae, Clubionidae, Ctenidae, Dictynidae, Dipluridae, Dysderidae, Filistatidae, Gnaphosidae, Heteropodidae, Hypochilidae, Leptonetidae, Linyphiidae, Lycosidae, Mecysmauchenidae, Metidae, Mimetidae, Mysmenidae, Oonopidae, Oxyopidae, Palpimanidae, Pholcidae, Psechirdae, Salticidae, Scytodidae, Segestriidae, Symphytognathidae, Tetrablemmidae, Tetragnathidae, Theraphosidae, Theridiidae, Thomisidae, and Uloboridae. Externally visible copulatory organs of both sexes as well as the receptaculum seminis in the female and the permophore in the male palus were given special attention. Structural and functional principles and evolutionary development are discussed based on the results of this comparative study.
