(Araneae, Opiliones)}, journal = {Berichte des Naturwissenschaftlich-Medizinischen Vereins in Innsbruck}, volume = {84}, year = {1997}, note = {ZOOR13400060344}, month = {1997}, pages = {171-226}, abstract = {Ground dwelling spiders and harvestmen were investigated by the means of pitfall traps at ten different sites between 1490 and 2100 m in the northern Dolomites (Puez-Geisler Nature Park) from 11 April 1995-12 May 1996. Additionally the fauna was sampled by hand. Trapping resulted in 4042 adult spiders (Linyphiidae 44\%; Lycosidae 25\%; Agelenidae 21\%; Gnaphosidae 3\%; other 12 families 5\%) and 129 adult Opiliones (Phalangidae 64\%; Nemastomatidae 29\%; Trogulidae 5\%). Altogether 155 species of spiders and 12 species of Opiliones were recognized, 9 of them will require additional taxonomic studies. Families and zoogeographically important species are discussed and compared with previous studies in the area. Seasonal activities according to TRETZEL (1954) and phenologies are shown. Life cycle types according to SCHAEFER (1976) are given whenever possible. Environmental variables were collected for each site using plant indicator values (ELLENBERG et at. 1991). Canonical correspondence analysis was used to estimate the influence of external factors on the spider communities. Linyphiid and agelenid species occur mainly in woodland, Lycosidae, Gnaphosidae and Thomisidae in alpine and open habitats. Multivariate methods were used to classify the sites based on their spider species composition. There are two main groups: alpine and subalpine habitats which may be further subdivided. According to PESARINI (1994) 29 species are new for Italy, e.g. Asthenargus perforatus, Eperigone trilobata, Latithorax faustus, Microcentria rectangulata, Meioneta orites, Stemonyphantes conspersus, Xysticus obscurus. 29 species are endemic in the Alpine system, 16 species show a boreal-alpine and arcticalpine distribution. Endemic species of the genus Coelotes apparently do not occur in the area studied, whereas Megabunus armatus which is endemic in the SE Alps was collected. Immigrants from the southern border of the Alps are Lepthyphantes cf.}, keywords = {[Italy / / Dolomites, annotated faunal list, Araneae, Araneae (Arachnida): [New record]., community characterizations], Ecology, Eurasia, Europe, Habitat, habitat / / Subalpine \& alpine sites, Habitat utilization, in alpine \& subalpine habitats] [Habitat preference / / ] [Mountain, including first records]., Land zones, Opiliones (Arachnida): [New record]., Opiliones [Population dynamics / / Phenological coenoses of, Palaearctic region, Puez-Geisler Nature Park, subalpine \& alpine sites] [Distribution within habitat / / Distribution, Terrestrial habitat}, isbn = {0379-1416}, url = {://ZOOREC:ZOOR13400060344}, author = {Zingerle, Vito} }
