Laboratory examination of the eggsac revealed the presence of many unhatched pupal cases of a species of tiny parasitoid wasp, later identified as Idris saitidis (Howard)(Hymenoptera; Scelionidae). The adult wasps were observed emerging from their pupal cases later the same evening. Immediately upon emergence, several matings occurred within the spider eggsac. Ten of these individuals were placed in a vial containing a recently produced eggsac of the orbweaver, Neoscona arabesca (Walckenaer) (Argiopidae). A second group of six wasps were placed in a vial with an eggsac of a funnelweb spider (Agelenopsis sp.) (Agelenidae). Oviposition was observed in neither group, and eventually spiderlings emerged from the eggsacs.}, keywords = {Hosts, Idris saitidis (Scelionidae): [Parasite]., Idris saitidis [Arachnid hosts / / Phidippus clarus, Insect parasites, Land zones, Nearctic region, New arachnid host record]., New host, New host record \&, New hymenopteran, North America, observations] [Kansas / / Douglas County, parasite record]., Parasites, Parasites diseases and disorders, Phidippus clarus (Araneae): [Host]., Phidippus clarus [Hymenopteran parasites / / Idris saitidis, record \& observations] [Kansas / / Douglas County, USA}, isbn = {0022-8443}, url = {://ZOOREC:ZOOR13600054591}, author = {Guarisco, Hank} }
